A One-Page HOA Approval Packet for a Small Greenhouse
A greenhouse may look temporary to its owner and permanent to a homeowners association. A concise package with dimensions, material details and a site plan can reduce repeated questions.
Start with the governing documents
Identify architectural-review procedures, outbuilding rules, setbacks, height limits, approved exterior colors and visibility restrictions. Do not assume that a similar structure on a neighboring property was formally approved.
Draw a simple site plan
Show the property boundaries, proposed footprint, access path and distances to fences or buildings. Include width, length and maximum height. If drainage or runoff could change, explain what you plan to do.
Attach representative details
Provide photographs or a manufacturer drawing that accurately reflects the proposed model, foundation, glazing and frame color. Note whether power, water or permanent anchors are planned.
Wait for written approval
Document the submission date, requested revisions and final approval conditions. Local building permits may still apply even when the HOA approves the project. Confirm both before placing a nonrefundable order.
Before you act
Use this guide as a research checklist and verify rules, prices, availability and individual circumstances with the relevant provider or official organization. This is general information, not personalized medical, financial or legal advice.
